Olives
One look at Casa Amahoro and it's easy to tell olives are our dominant crop and we are proud to say we make some pretty exquisite olive oil from them too! It all begins in November with our raw olives.
The olives are harvested by pulling them from the branches and collecting the fallen olives on netting that is laid beneath the trees. The oil from the olives is extracted using a mechanical "cold press" at a local mill near Fasano. It takes around 10 kilos of olives to produce a litre of extra virgin olive oil. As we have different species of olives, our oil has a unique Casa Amahoro blend and taste.

In addition to our olives, we have a large variety of fruit trees including cherry, plum, pomegranate, pear, fig, walnut, orange, and lemon. Since working on our flower garden, we have attracted a large number of butterflies and bees to our garden, too!
